Grand View Media Group Acquires Predator & Prey and Hunting Camp Journal from JNE Publishing, Inc.
February 7, 2007, BIRMINGHAM, ALA. -- Effective Feb. 1, 2007, Birmingham, Ala.-based publisher Grand View Media Group acquired two publications from JNE Publishing, Inc., of Huntsville, Ala.: Predator & Prey and Hunting Camp Journal along with their corresponding names and Web sites.
These two publications will merge with Grand View’s Predator Xtreme (for Predator & Prey) and Whitetail Journal (for Hunting Camp Journal), effective with the March/April 2007 issues. No future issues of the JNE publications will be published.
“We are delighted to be able to offer our subscribers the high-caliber publications of Predator Xtreme and Whitetail Journal,” said J. Wayne Fears, president of JNE Publishing. “I am confident they will be pleased with the expertise and quality information these publications bring to the reader.”
Predator Xtreme magazine – America’s No. 1 source for year-round hunting and shooting information – provides detailed instructions for the beginner or expert, including advice from pros on setup, technique, equipment and fast-changing technological advances. Predator Xtreme aims to make the hunter more effective in calling and hunting everything from ground squirrels to coyotes and mountain lions. Subscribers won’t miss a single issue of intense predator and varmint hunting—in fact, they will get more. Predator Xtreme publishes one more regular issue than Predator & Prey, plus an annual Gear Guide – two bonus issues included in the current subscription at no extra cost.
Hunting Camp Journal subscribers will now receive Whitetail Journal, “America’s Complete Deer Hunting Source” for serious deer hunters looking for the facts. The publication features information from trusted veteran whitetailers such as Bob Robb, Dr. Dave Samuel, Bill Winke, Ralph Lermayer, Steve Bartylla, Scott Haugen, Tim Herald, John E. Phillips, Mike Strandlund and J. Wayne Fears. Each issue offers a multitude of useful information, including: firearm and ammunition reviews specific to a deer hunter’s needs; scientific research on whitetail behavior; a section devoted exclusively to bow hunting; adventure opportunities from the backyard or around the world; focused how-to information designed to help deer hunters be more effective; reviews of the latest equipment advances; and pointed editorial opinion on the latest controversies and the politics of deer hunting and game management.
“The strategic acquisition and merger of Predator & Prey subscribers into Predator Xtreme has taken the top two magazines in this category and has built a resounding No. 1 in Predator Xtreme,” said Barry Lovette, General Manager of Grand View Media Group. “Also, the addition of Hunting Camp Journal subscribers to Whitetail Journal fuels the continued success and growth of
Whitetail Journal. “
