Cabela’s Outfitter Journal Wins Pearl Award for Editorial

New York, NY (November 14, 2008) -- The Custom Publishing Council’s (CPC) fifth annual Pearl Awards took place last night at the Rainbow Room, honoring the best in design, digital, editorial and strategic initiatives for B2B and consumer custom publications. Dr. Samir Husni, Chair, Journalism Department at University of Mississippi, and Advertising Age Editor Jonah Bloom presented bronze, silver and gold awards to 53 companies in front of a packed audience of 150 CPC members and guests.
 
Cabela’s Outfitter Journal, published by Grand View Media Group (GVMG), won the Bronze award for “Best Editorial Column for the article, “The One That Got Away” by authors Terry W. Sheely, Alan Clemons, Joe Arterburn, David Draper and P.J. Reilly. The column was featured in the May/June 2008 issue of Cabela’s Outfitter Journal. The eight-year-old magazine is custom published six times a year for Cabela’s, Inc. Contributing to the winning article were: Colin Moore, GVMG Editorial Director; Joe Arterburn, Cabela’s Editorial Director; Chuck Smock, Editor for Cabela’s; Hilary Mizelle, Managing Editor; and Marty Harris, Senior Art Director.
