Archery Business, Bowhunting World Take Home Excellence Awards

This past November Archery Business and sister publication Bowhunting World were honored as part of the 11th Annual Minnesota Magazine & Publications Association (MMPA) Excellence Awards competition.

The 2007 Awards banquet held November 1st saw Archery Business take home the Bronze Excellence Award in the category of “Best Regular Column—Business/Trade” for its “Behind The Counter” column. The one-page column that appears on every issue’s last page is designed to help archery retailers succeed by tapping advice from other successful, veteran retailers.

In addition, Bowhunting World—AB’s fellow Grand View Media Sportsman’s Group publication aimed at consumers—took home the Gold Excellence Award for its special “Xtreme” issue that topped entrants in the category of “Best Single Topic Issue” for Special Interest mags.

“The past year has been very exciting for the Sportsman’s Group,” said Lee Hetherington, group publisher. “We’re producing the strongest books in the history of these titles, and to receive recognition from our publishing peers outside our core industry brings great satisfaction. There were more than 600 entries that competed in 11 categories in this competition. For our group to be awarded twice is humbling, yet puts an exclamation point on the end of a very successful year.”

Attending The ATA Trade Show? Be sure to stop by the Archery Business/Bowhunting World booth (1909), and pick up your free copies of our award-winning pubs. We’d like to thank all of the pro shops and manufacturers that help make these Grand View Sportsman’s Group publications “award winners” the whole year long!
